What a day for a run! There may have been some wind, and it may have been a bit chilly, but the sun shined down — blessing the first long run of the CARA Winter Half Marathon Training.
I had been going easy on my runs for the last week, thanks to a slight ankle strain at the Hot Chocolate 5/15K. But today I decided to up the pace a bit.
I joined the 10:30 pace group, and — surprise, surprise! — F^3 Half Marathon Race Director and friend Kimberley Stedman was the pace leader.
I also bumped into fellow race ambassador @HeathBar6 and work colleague @krzimmer. And @daRevoluCHIN yelled, “F MY INJURY!!!!” to me after he hit the turnaround and passed me on the way back to Montrose. It was awesome.

It was a great omen — good weather and good friends. This year’s going to be a great race!!
Only 12 more weeks to go. [Insert shameless plug here -- and sign up for the race!]
